Marjorie Weinman Sharmat has been called "a shining star as a storyteller" by Publishers Weekly. After many years in New York State (one of them at 165 East 95th Street, New York City) she now lives in Tucson, Arizona. Jose Aruego and Ariane Dewey have illustrated many books together--he draws the outlines and designs the pages; she paints the illustrations.
