Lanning, an independent consultant, adjunct professor, concept-based curriculum specialist, and former teacher and administrator, shows English language arts curriculum writers and educators how to design concept-based English language arts units that teach conceptual ideas in content, processes, strategies, and skills to help students transfer their learning across genres and ensure that they have conceptual understanding of what they are learning.
